Voki is a great motivator for any lesson. For my scavenger hunt, I chose a character and typed what I wanted her to say. This could be used in my future classroom to introduce lessons to my students. Voki uses the NETS Standards 1c, Creativity and Innovation, and 2b, Communication and Collaboration. With Voki, students use models and simulations to explore complex systems and uses. Using Voki students also communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats.
Our class assignment was to create a scavenger hunt. A scavenger hunt is a fun way for students to learn and explore about a topic. Students will click the links in the questions, which will bring them directly to a website where they can find the answers. This can be very useful for me as a teacher, to help incorporate technology into my lessons. The NETS Standards associated with my scavenger hunt is 3b, Research and Information Fluency) which allows students to locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media.
